Living in Tuosist, looking out the kitchen window I can see Knockatee. At 330 meters only a small hill, but the view from the top is magnificent nonetheless. I decided to hike up the hill through the fields at the rear of our house – rather than to follow the boring normal road most people take when they go to places.
Our 6-month old kitten Tipsy thought it all too interesting and much to my surprise decided to join me on my stroll; all the way to the summit – and back down again.
From the summit you get an amazing view over Lauragh and Glanmore lake on the west, the Caha mountains on the east and the Iveragh peninsula and its mountain ranges on the north.
