As we find ourselves halfway into the month October the Irish autumn has truly set in. After a few wet days today it was dry and we needed a little fresh air.
I don’t know how it was decided but the Drombohilly stone circle was to be our destination. It’s only just up the road from us, but the way up leads through some boggy, very wet and uneven terrain. The stone circle is not clearly visible from the road as it’s tucked in between bits of forestry.
There really is something special about these kind of sites. The Beara peninsula is home to quite a lot of these ancient pagan places of celebration and worshipping, often located in places of natural beauty.
